The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts will open The First Cortina on 4 December, taking its The First brand beyond Rome and into the Dolomites for the start of the 2026–27 ski season. The five-star hotel sits on Corso Italia, Cortina’s main street.

The building is the former Hotel Splendid Venezia, fully converted by Studio Marincola Architects. All 76 rooms and suites have private balconies facing the mountains; the Enrosadira Penthouse occupies the top floor.

Wellness is the centrepiece: a REVĪVŌ spa across two levels, bringing the philosophy of the group’s Bali wellness resort to an Alpine setting, with an indoor pool that opens to the outside, a sauna and a hammam. Dining comes from Zuma and Velo, the hotel’s all-day Italian restaurant.

Cortina is getting busier at the top end. Mandarin Oriental is preparing its own Alpine debut in the resort, Mandarin Oriental Cristallo, for 2027.
